We have been waiting for 1 year and 11 days for this day to come. We ordered a 2022 Tesla Model X Long Range. The color we chose is white exterior with cream interior. We chose a 6-seater configuration. Coming from minivans, this was the best option we wanted. The white exterior color is free, however we had to pay for the 6-seat configuration.
Because the waiting period is over a year, we decided to purchase a 2021 Model Y Long Range 7-seater. Abby insisted we need this configuration but we hardly used it. This should have been the performance trim so that I would have traded in my Model 3 when the Model X was ready to be delivered. She disagreed.
We purchased the Model X for $109,990. The base model was $99,990. The cream interior cost $2,000. Finally, the 6-seater configuration is another $6,000 added to the price. This is the configuration we wanted and got.
This was different than our other Tesla vehicles because, we were not able to see the car nor were we able to do a test drive… until recently. Our neighbor had a Plaid trim and he let us borrow it to check it out. It came with a yoke steering wheel which took some time to get used to.
We noticed some stains in the interior during the delivery. They suggested to make an appointment so it can be cleaned. There were some misalignment issues on the front bumper. The falcon doors seemed to operate fine (but eventually started to malfunction).
